The Wayne Hollomon Price Foundation is guided by a passionate and diverse Board of Directors, united by their dedication to philanthropy and positive global change. Overseeing the foundation’s strategic vision, the board plays a crucial role in identifying, supporting, and nurturing projects that align with the foundation’s mission. With backgrounds in fields such as environmental conservation, nonprofit management, finance, education, medicine, and social services, the board brings a wealth of expertise and perspectives to its work.

Collectively, the board ensures that the foundation’s grants target high-impact initiatives across the globe, addressing urgent environmental challenges, promoting sustainable development, and improving community well-being. From supporting grassroots organizations to funding large-scale conservation efforts, the board is committed to fostering innovative solutions that create lasting change.

Meet the 2025 Board of Directors

MPA, Executive Director

John E. Bellett

John is a founding board member and close friend of Wayne Hollomon Price since 1983 when they met volunteering at the United Helpline. Having been a part of the process of Wayne Hollomon Price conceptualizing the idea mission, purpose, and her preferences for the foundation. John has also served as the Executive Director of the foundation since it’s inception in 1999. John’s interests include all areas of the foundation’s interest – with emphasis on funding grassroots projects. John has a masters in public administration, worked in social services for 40 years, served on the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services Board from 2005-2010 (chair for 2 years).

Nancy Zatarain-Bellett

Nancy Zatarain-Bellett is a Founding Board Member and was a close personal friend of the founder Wayne Hollomon Price. Nancy’s interests include oceans, rainforests and animal welfare. Nancy serves in the Allocation Committee and in the Investment Committee for HPF. Nancy holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts. She has a career of over 40 years working in Social Services in clinical and administrative capacities.

John R. Bauer

John Bauer is a founding board member of the Wayne Hollomon Price Foundation. John met Wayne Price when in their early 20's and had a personal and professional relationship until her death in 2011. John was instrumental in helping Wayne form the foundation legally, as well as in helping and supporting Wayne develop the foundation's mission and bylaws starting in 1999. John and his late wife, Kathaleen Bauer (first "Honorary" Board Member 2022) have shown impeccable commitment to Wayne, her vision for the foundation, and to the entire board throughout the evolution of the board and foundation since it's inception in 1999. John has had a long career as an attorney in Dallas, Texas. John serves on the law school board of Southern Methodist University (where he is an alumni), as well as on a plethora of other nonprofit boards over the course of his adult life. John is a proud environmentalist and calls his service on the foundation one of the biggest hobors of his life.

Rita Braeutigam

Rita Braeutigam has been a member of the Hollomon Price Foundation since _. She currently serves as the Chair of the Foundation and sits on the Allocation, Finance and Executive committees .Rita holds a BA in Education and had an 18 year career in the classroom. Rita also has a passion for animal welfare. For 25 years she has championed support for homeless animals in the community. In 2010 Rita was appointed to the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services Advisory Board where she currently serves as Board Chair. Time with her family and 5 grandchildren brings her unimaginable joy.
CPA, Treasurer

Gloria P. Arecchi

Gloria Pins Arecchi, CPA, has been a Board Member of the Wayne Hollomon-Price Foundation since 2008. She serves as Treasurer of the Foundation and on the Allocations and Executive Committees. Gloria has been a respected CPA in San Antonio, Texas for 45 years. She has served as treasurer of the following organizations: SAYSi, JumpStart Performance, and Family Service Association, among many others and was a two-term President of the King William Neighborhood Association. Her interests are history, archeology, art, arthouse movies, and the environment. She loves spending time with her friends, her adult children, and her two granddaughters.

Blake Werner, MD

Dr. Robert "Blake" Werner, Jr., MD. is a San Antonio, TX native currently living in the Northeast. He developed a deep appreciation and respect for nature during his childhood through his participation in the Boy Scouts of America, ultimately earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Since joining the Hollomon Price Foundation in 2013, Blake has been able to share his support for many organizations in their effort to not only take a hands-on approach to environmental conservation but also educate future generations on the importance and impact of environmental stewardship. Outside of practicing medicine and his time with HPF, Blake enjoys going on day hikes and practicing ballroom dance with his significant other.

Wilson Bellett

Wilson officially joined the board in 2022, having grown up being a part of the foundation’s annual meetings since he was a young child as Wayne Price’s Godson. Wilson’s environmental interests include funding smaller, grassroots organization’s grassroots organizations that focus on program and action . Wilson has a bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security and is currently working as a professional in that field.

Erika Borrego

Erika M. Borrego, MSW graduated with a Master of Social Work in 2001 from Our Lady of the Lake University. Erika is also an alumnus of St. Mary’s University graduating with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1999. Her work at the San Antonio Food Bank spanned over 18 years and in those years she served lastly at the Chief Operating Officer overseeing all Programs and Operations of the San Antonio Food Bank. These programs included federal benefit assistance, workforce services, nutrition education, senior programs, children's programs, agency distribution, meal distribution programs, culinary programs, disaster response services and the New Braunfels Food Bank. The operations consisted of a fleet of over 40 vehicles, a warehouse of over 210,000 square feet and all facility and grounds maintenance of 5 campuses. Before her time at the SAFB, Erika M. Borrego was the Executive Director of a local foster care agency, Lutheran Social Services of the South, overseeing all recruitment and training of foster parents as well as placement and treatment planning for foster children. Since May of 2023, Erika has served as the President / CEO of Corazon Ministries, an agency serving the homeless and most marginalized members of our community. She currently leads a team of 35 passionate staff with lived experience who serve to provide respite / day services for the homeless, harm reduction services to include a needle exchange program, outreach services, culinary services, health and medical services and a sober living home for women.

Tom Martinez, Ph.D

Tom’s professional life has focused on growth, healing and wellbeing. His work as a faith leader seeks to integrate science and spirituality in ways that help restore a sense of connection to the material universe and the Earth’s living systems. He has a longstanding interest in humanity’s troubled relationship with the natural world and seeks to collaborate with all those working to bring about healing, restoration and resilience. His areas of interests include climate change, ecospirituality, Ecopsychology, in the tradition of ecological writers such as Joanna Macy and Thomas Berry.

Mike Parrish

Mike Parrish joined the Wayne Hollomon-Price Foundation Board of Directors in 2022. Mike loves WHPF because it provides him an opportunity to serve our environment, influence meaningful change, and connect with family & friends. Mike is passionate about environmental justice causes, particularly opportunities for young people to learn about our environment and feel empowered to take action to fight climate change. Mike works for Expedia Group in Seattle, WA where he lives with his wife, Wayne, son, Louis Price, and dog, Leo.

Wayne Parrish

Wayne Parrish has been a board member of the Wayne Hollomon-Price Foundation since 2010 and is the goddaughter and namesake of Wayne Price. She is passionate about wildlife and environmental preservation with a particular interest in supporting projects in low and middle-income countries that are focused on enabling people and wildlife to co-exist and thrive through education and financial opportunities. Wayne currently works at the Gates Foundation in Seattle, WA where she lives with her husband, Mike, son, Louis, and dog, Leo.

Rena Summers

Rena Summers formally joined the Wayne Hollomon-Price Foundation Board of Directors in 2022, but was a friend of the Board, and regular meeting guest, for 10 years prior. Although she applauds all of the initiatives that WHPF funds, she is especially dedicated to the preservation of our natural environment, the protection of defenseless wildlife, and the education needed to promote these ideals. Rena's career has been rooted in clinical research, where she works diligently to advance medicine, processes, and devices used in patient care. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, family, and friends. She also likes to read, write, listen to music, and attend live music events.

Emeritus Board Member

Mike Casey

Michael served on the Wayne Hollomon Price Foundation board from 2004-2022. Upon his retirement, the WHPF board created an Emeritus Board Member category to honor him, his service and dedication to the foundation for 18 years (many of which he served as Board Chair), and his personal relationship with the founder, Wayne Hollomon Price, whom he supported on all levels of her life and with the positive evolution of the foundation. Michael also went well beyond the call of duty forming close professional and personal relationships with each board member - bringing love, joy and enthusiasm to his presence and work on the WHPF board.
Honorary Board Member

Kathaleen Bauer

1947-2022

The Wayne Hollomon Price Foundation board created this category - Honorary Board Member - to recognize Kathaleen's service and dedication to the foundation and board from it's inception in 1999, to when she passed in 2022. As the wife of founding board member John R. Bauer, Kathaleen was consistently involved in and contributed to the planning and organization of the foundation's field trips, site visits, investment committee gatherings and activities, etc. Kathaleen also formed close personal relationships with many of the board members over the years and brough kindness and joy to those she touched. Kathaleen was a very strong woman of impeccable character, boundless energy, and the rare quality of always doing the right thing. She is greatly missed.
